Jaime
Massang
BSc (Hons) LLB (UQ) FNZIPA FIPTA
Jaime is a registered Australian & New
Zealand Patent and Trademark Attorney
and has been a Principal of Pegasus IP
and its predecessor, Pipers Australia
since 2000.
Jaime holds a B.Sc (Hons) and an LLB
from the University of Queensland and is
a fellow of the Institute of Patent and
Trademark Attorneys of Australia and the
New Zealand Institute of Patent
Attorneys. Jaime is also a member of the
FICPI, APAA and IPSANZ.
Although Jaime’s undergraduate studies
were in Physiology and Pharmacology, his
working experience as a medical
scientist and exercise physiologist at
two major Australian hospitals has
resulted in an aptitude for mechanical,
biomedical, pharmacological and sports
oriented patents.
On obtaining his legal qualifications,
Jaime’s employment as a solicitor in a
major Intellectual Property firm,
resulted in developing an expertise in
trademark and design prosecution and
litigation.
Jaime is married with three sons and
enjoys playing tennis, surfing his
longboard and restoring his MGB Roadster
which has a V8 engine.

Paul
Johnson
BSc.
MBiotech. (UQ) Registered Australian Trade Mark Attorney
Mr Paul Johnson has a
Bachelor of Science majoring in Physiology and a Master
of Biotechnology from the University of Queensland. He
joined the firm in 2010 as a Patent and Trade Mark
Professional. Mr Johnson is a Registered Australian
Trade Mark Attorney and is nearing completion of a
Master in Industrial Property degree from the University
of Technology, Sydney. Prior to joining the firm, Mr
Johnson was employed by a highly regarded firm of Patent
and Trade Mark Attorneys in Osaka, Japan. During this
time he developed extensive experience in prosecuting
patents before the Japanese Patent Office, as well as
before patent offices of other jurisdictions, including
Australia, United States and Europe. Additionally, Mr
Johnson was a Technical Assistant on a number of
contentious patent matters, including patent litigation,
oppositions, invalidity actions, infringement opinions,
appellate matters and freedom to operate opinions,
primarily in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical
sectors (including immunoassays and devices, nucleic
acid testing, DNA diagnostics and reagents, chemokine
receptors, monoclonal antibodies, protein-based
vaccines, and pharmaceutical compounds).
